Food Innovation Australia Limited (FIAL) has partnered with the City of Greater Dandenong to deliver its Middle East Trade Readiness Forum, designed for Australian food businesses wanting to fast-track export and import development and market diversification capabilities.

The Middle East Trade Readiness Forum is the first of a series of region-specific forums by FIAL for businesses interested in diversifying market opportunities and seeking tailored expert advice with food and agribusiness market insights.

The first forum will highlight Middle East emerging market trends and dynamics and provide a comprehensive understanding of Halal requirements.

FIAL said the forum was specifically tailored to Australian food and agribusiness interested in learning how to best enter the market and how to avoid risk, and brief businesses visiting or attending Gulfood 2024 with key marketing essentials and opportunity for one to one business matching while providing development and strategies to prepare for some of the largest trade shows in the world.

FIAL GM commercial Rod Arenas said FIAL had a proven track record of taking Australian food and beverage brands to international markets for close to a decade.

“We've facilitated numerous commercial outcomes, which have in turned ongoing orders from a range of supermarket, retailers, and other international and domestic buyers,” said Arenas.

The Middle East continues to grow with consumer demand for Australian food and beverage products across numerous categories. By 2024, it is estimated that the UAE will spend US16.7 billion on food products, with imports representing 70 per cent of the region’s food requirements. Food and agriculture exports from Australia already total A$3.9billion annually and the UAE forms a gateway for re-export across the region.
