Grant Burge Wines has launched its 30 Leaving Their Mark initiative, recognising 30 Australians who are silently making waves and lasting impacts on their communities, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Grant Burge Wines Pinot Noir Chardonnay.

In partnership with Guardian Labs, the campaign is endorsed by a panel of judges including Paralympian and 2022 Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott, Grant Burge chief winemaker Craig Stansborough, and Guardian Labs content and strategy director Justine O’Donnell.

Alcott said it was especially important in recent times to recognise and celebrate ordinary people that were making a difference and helping to change society for the better.

“Leaving your mark isn’t about celebrity, fame or how many followers you have on social media, it’s about making change for the better, to improve or enhance the lives of others in the spirit of generosity, said Alcott.

Grant Burge Wines is inviting Australians to participate in this initiative by nominating individuals under three key pillars: community, innovation, and culture.

Within the pillar of community, the initiative seeks to acknowledge individuals who stand out in their communities, promoting cohesion and diversity whilst moving Australia’s social fabric forward. The innovation category aims to recognise those who boldly challenge the status quo through experimentation and curiosity. The culture category aims to identify Australians who are moving the dial from a cultural perspective, those making waves in the sports, art, music or fashion worlds.

Stansborough said the initiative aligned with the core values of Grant Burge Wines.

“Being able to contribute to the acknowledgment of these unsung heroes and innovators is a privilege.

“It's a fantastic opportunity to be part of a campaign that celebrates generosity, kindness, and community spirit across Australia,” said Stansborough.

30 Leaving Their Mark is an open initiative for all Australian residents over the age of 25, with nominations open now and until 15 February.

Packaging News

In a collaborative effort, Kimberly-Clark Australia and Woolworths have successfully completed a packaging trial aimed at eliminating the use of secondary plastic packaging for Viva paper towels. The initiative, now set to become standard practice, is projected to save 15 tonnes of plastic annually.

John Cerini has stepped down as CEO of Pro-Pac, with Ian Shannon, who was chief operating officer of the company, taking over the role, and becoming managing director.

Sustainable packaging achievements were recognised at the APCO Annual Awards in Sydney last night. The event celebrated organisations, and individuals, driving change towards the 2025 National Packaging Targets and beyond. PKN was there.
