Global specialist engineering company, IMI plc, is uniting three of its brands under the IMI name – with pneumatics and electric motion control technology leaders Norgren, Bimba, and Bahr to be known going forward as IMI Norgren, IMI Bimba, and IMI Bahr.
The decision will see the brands receive a new look, and will enhance customer access to a range of system solutions and technical expertise for industrial automation sectors – including food and beverage.
IMI plc CEO Automation, Jackie Hu, said that all three companies have been part of IMI plc for years, and have supported industrial customers to meet engineering challenges through technical excellence and a collaborative approach.
“Yet, we recognise that better does not stand still, so as we look forward, our team will continue to work with customers across many sectors. Our new approach promises an exciting and innovation-led future for both IMI and our customers as, together, we tackle key issues such as productivity, energy efficiency and sustainability.”
Norgren has been operating under IMI plc since 1972, with the company forming the foundation of IMI’s fluid power division. The company acquired Bimba in 2018, and Bahr Modultechnik in 2022.
“Our existing customers can be fully assured that under the IMI brand, they will continue to benefit from our drive for innovation, our proven product solutions, our engineering expertise, and our unrivalled service,” said Hu.
In Australia, IMI Norgren has offices in Seven Hills, New South Wales, and Coopers Plains, Queensland, and its products are distributed by several hydraulics companies across the country. IMI Bimba has distributors in New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria, at Pneumatic Products, Pneumatic Solutions Australia, and Pneutech respectively.
