Healthy ingredients company, Tate & Lyle, has launched its new stevia composition, Optimizer Stevia 8.10, which the company describes as a cost-effective ingredient with a premium taste profile close to sugar.

Tate & Lyle is able to provide a lower cost premium stevia due to the company’s scientists developing a proprietary production process that utilises the potential of steviol glycosides. The use of these naturally occurring components allows greater use of the stevia leaf extract and a more efficient manufacturing process.

Tate & Lyle senior vice president global platform Sweeteners & Fibres, Abigail Storms, said that the new stevia ingredient leveraged the company’s technical expertise to create a quality cost-effective sweetener.

“Optimizer Stevia 8.10 opens a world of possibilities for food and beverage manufacturers because they no longer have to compromise on taste because of cost. Whether you're looking to improve taste, reduce costs, or enhance the nutritional profile of your products, Optimizer Stevia 8.10 delivers on all fronts.”

The company stated that Optimizer Stevia 8.10 was ideal for the taste profile of high sugar-replacement formulations, such as nutrition bars and shakes, functional beverages, vitamin gummies, and yoghurt.
