Allen’s has celebrated the launch of its new Mini Chocolate Bananas by covering the iconic Coffs Harbour Big Banana with a chocolate-like syrup.

A stuntman climbed the 13-metre-long and five-metre-high landmark to pour 180 litres of special syrup on the landmark, which took around 90 minutes to complete.

“Allen’s is a proud Aussie brand many of us have grown up with, so when we decided to make our much-loved original bananas bite-sized and cover them in chocolate, there was only one way to mark the occasion,” said Nestle head of marketing Joyce Tan.

“The Big Banana is an iconic landmark that has created many special memories for Aussies across the country, and has also been a big supporter of Allen’s banana lollies, so we’re thrilled to be the first confectionery brand in the world to give this great icon an ‘apeeling’ make-over to celebrate our new Allen’s Mini Chocolate Bananas.”

The new bite-sized banana lollies from Allen’s are covered in milk chocolate and are gluten free, with no artificial colours or flavours.

Allen’s Mini Chocolate Bananas are now available in stores for RRP $4.50.
