Archie Rose Distilling Co. is expanding its Harvest Series with the addition of Emerald Finger Lime Harvest Gin, its fifth release in the series.

Each release in the Harvest Series heroes a key local or raw ingredient and showcases its provenance, grower and region; resulting in a true expression of the brands spirit making and dedication to Australian produce.

This edition shines a spotlight on producers Mark and Vickie of Marvick Native Farms, located in the coastal air of Western Australia, where they grow and individually hand-pick native Australian Emerald Green Finger Limes.

Archie Rose produced the Emerald Finger Lime botanical distillate by utilising the lime skin and citrus pearls. Renowned for their vibrant pearls and citrus flavour, the limes create a gin with heady aromas of makrut lime zest, yuzu, and peppery pine.

The tasting notes state that the gin delivers a mouth-coating citrus flavour followed by fresh cracked pepper and softer notes of honeydew gelato chervil and violets.

Archie Rose master distiller, Dave Withers, said he was surprised at the diversity of finger limes available at Marvick Native Farms.

“We asked Vickie to send us all the different types of finger limes she grows and we tried distilling about six varieties,” said Withers.

“While each expressed a distinctly different personality as a distilled product, the Emerald Green Finger Lime stood out for its distinct vibrant characteristics.

“Grown in the coastal air of Western Australia, it exhibits a unique blend of flavours, resulting in a brilliantly herbaceous yet limey gin,” he said.

Emerald Finger Lime marks the distillery’s first new gin launch for the year and continues the tradition of celebrating the bounty and diversity of the Australian harvest, which began in 2019 with the launch of the Harvest Gin Series.

It joins previous annual releases in the series including Lemon Scented Gum Gin, Raw Honey Gin, Dry Grown Rye Malt Whisky and Single Paddock Whisky.

Emerald Finger Lime Harvest Gin is available at archierose.com.au and at the Archie Rose Bar & Cellar Door for RRP $89.
