Tasmanian distillery, House of Lark, has launched its annual limited release, Dark Lark 2024, in celebration of the Aurora Australis. Lark describes the release as its "smoothest single malt whiskey".

The Tasmanian distillery, founded in 1992, celebrates the celestial event best-viewed from Tasmania, the Aurora Australis, on the artwork of their limited bottle.

Lark states that Dark Lark Single Malt is matured in sherry, port, and white oak casks, and finished in tokay and muscat casks.

The whiskey features aromas of mocha and sultanas with light oak spice and a hint of cherry. The palate is white peach, creme brulee, and blackcurrant crumble, with a finish of chocolate, honeycomb, and caramelised pineapple.

Lark master blender, Chris Thomson, describes Dark Lark as an unexpectedly smooth single malt that oozes character and embraces the wild.

“Dark Lark is a striking symbol of that unapologetic Tassie uniqueness, and it commands the room from 9pm to midnight, on your own terms.”

Dark Lark Single Malt Whisky is available from 15 May at larkdistillery.com for RRP $250 for a 500ml bottle.
