Hill-Smith Family Estates wine brand, Y Series, has released two new sparkling wines to market, in response to shifting consumer preferences – Cuvée and Prosecco.

Hill-Smith Family Estates executive director of marketing and sales, Jack Glover, said the company has seen a movement in sparkling wines globally, where they are becoming the wine of choice for everyday moments with friends, rather than just for celebratory moments.

“Prosecco, in particular, has driven growth in the sparkling category, proving to be a refreshing and crisp aperitif, as well as a perfect base for cocktails,” said Glover.

“To meet every consumer occasion, we felt our collection wouldn’t be complete without sparkling wines.”

Committed to providing a ‘Y’ for every why, Y Series stated it aims to create wines that are true to their varietal character while being fun, delicious and approachable.

To support the launch, Samuel Smith & Son has partnered with Australian Liquor Marketers (ALM) and their contract customers to release Y Series Prosecco, while the Cuvée will be available market-wide.

Samuel Smith & Son executive director of sales, Ty Menzies, said the new Y Series Sparkling collection will offer independent customers a first-to-market opportunity.

“The Y Series Sparkling collection provides retailers with a trusted family brand in the $12–$16 price bracket—a strong addition to the sparkling wine category,” said Menzies.

Y Series Prosecco is available through ALM in retail and on-premise, and Y Series Cuvée is available across all independent retail stores and on-premise venues for RRP $16.
