The latest release in Lark Distilling Co’s single malt whisky Rare Cask Series is a partnership with Seppeltsfield. The Rare Cask Para 92 was finished in vintage Seppeltsfield Para Tawny casks from 1992, celebrating Lark’s first distillation 30 years ago.
The result is a rich, deep, and complex character, born from the aged casks.
Lark founder Bill Lark said, “This is a release we want to be celebrated and enjoyed with a limited number of bottles released from today.
“The PARA Tawny casks were complex and offered a depth and character that have made this release so special. The result is long and sticky oak sweetness, perfect for those wanting to enjoy as we roll into Autumn.”
With only 3000 bottles available, the single malt is rich and sweet on the nose, with hints of berry custard and scorched nuts, followed by new leather and pipe tobacco. The remarkable heritage of the oak that once held the 30-year-old Seppeltsfield Para Tawny creates delightful chapters of mouth-watering complexity.
