Woolworths is partnering with Cadbury for the first ever hot cross bun filled with Cadbury Caramilk chips. The release accompanies the supermarket giant’s launch of its traditional hot cross buns, which include fruitless, fruit, and Cadbury milk chocolate filled buns.

Woolworths commercial director Bakery Jason McQuaid said innovation has been the key across the company’s teams nationally.

“Our indulgent flavours are also highly anticipated, and what could arguably be our most exciting flavour yet is the Hot Cross Buns made with Cadbury Caramilk chips. We’re expecting these limited-edition buns to be in high demand from customers.

“Hot cross buns are incredibly popular this time of year; last year we sold more than two million individual hot cross buns the first week they were on sale, so we’re thrilled to help Aussies end another challenging year with a delicious treat,” McQuaid said.

The partnership also marks Cadbury’s 100th year in the chocolate making business. Cadbury Australia licensing and co-branding manager ANZ Joanne Raven said they are excited to work with Woolworths on an Australian-first.

“Since the launch of our first Easter Egg in 1875, it’s safe to say a lot has happened since then, and Woolworths has been with us along the way, so it’s fitting for us to partner with this iconic Australian company, to disrupt the bakery category,” Raven said.

Woolworths Cadbury Caramilk chip Hot Cross Buns are available at Woolworths supermarkets and Metro stores in a four pack for RRP $4.50.
