To mark its 175th anniversary, South Australian winery, Yalumba, has released a limited Museum Collection of its vintage wines. The winery was established in 1849 and is now run by the fifth generation of the founding family.
Established in 1849 by Samuel Smith and today in the hands of fifth-generation proprietor Robert Hill-Smith, Yalumba is Australia’s oldest family-owned winery.
Hill-Smith said that the collection offers customers a unique and memorable fine wine experience.
“Over the last few decades, we have set aside parcels of the best vintages of our finest wines within the Museum – The Signature, The Menzies, The Octavius and The Caley – each deserving of a place in our Museum and the history book.
“After nearly 20 years of laying down back vintages, the first Yalumba Museum Collection release captures the essence of our commitment to wines of pedigree and exceptional quality.”
Limited parcels of The Caley Cabernet & Shiraz, The Octavius Old Vine Shiraz, The Menzies Cabernet Sauvignon, and The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz have been released alongside their current vintage counterparts aged up to 20 years.
The Yalumba Museum Collection is exclusively available through the Yalumba Wine Room and to Yalumba Wine Club members in limited quantities, as well as select fine wine bars and restaurants around the world.
“There is nothing more evocative or more pleasing than enjoying perfectly cellared vintages,” said Hill-Smith.
“On behalf of our past and present generations, I hope you will enjoy the wines and the stories of the Yalumba Museum Collection with fellow fine wine connoisseurs around the world.”
On 17 November 2024, Yalumba will celebrate 175 years of innovation and excellence in the art of winemaking, and will mark the anniversary with a series of releases and experiences throughout the year.
