Ready-made meal provider Youfoodz has released a new range of high-protein, high-performance snacks, focusing on functional nutrition.

The move in expanding the FUEL’D range is off the back of the success of the initial launch of FUEL’D ready-made meals last year.

Youfoodz has observed a growing demand from consumers seeking high-protein and larger portion sizes, placing a strong focus on the functional properties of food and beverages that deliver holistic health-boosting benefits.

Health and wellness have become a powerful driver for consumers when making everyday choices, with 80 per cent of consumers looking for snacks to improve their physical and emotional health.

9 out of ten Australian adults eat snacks in an average week, and are seeking more products with functional benefits with 41 per cent specifically wanting snacks that provide energy and a chance to ‘refuel’.

Youfoodz head of retail Peter Hardy said the company saw strong potential for a natural extension.

“With well-being on the rise, we could leverage the attributes of FUEL’D and extend the brand into an adjacent product category, of which we already participate in with a portfolio of portion-controlled snacks.

“We’re also mindful that eating patterns have changed significantly in recent times, as consumers search for healthy and convenient solutions that fit into their schedules. So, we saw a real opportunity to evolve our everyday snack range to deliver high-protein benefits that boost performance,” said Hardy.

The grab-and-go cookies, bars and bites include Vanilla Berry Crunch High Protein Cookie, Chewy Caramel High Protein Bite, Choc Peanut High Protein Bar.

They can be found on shelves across a number of grocery, service station and convenience stores, including Woolworths, IGA supermarkets, Ampol and BP.
