The company behind the relaunched Yowie chocolate brand has announced the launch of its second product series, with the new offerings to go on sale in Woolworths stores this week.

The chocolate-encased novelty treats were relaunched in 2014 by the ASX-listed Yowie Group. The group said it had launched the new Ranger Series with a view to stimulating collector interest ahead of Easter, and the product will be available in just over half of Woolworths stores.

It is the second series launched by the Perth-based company in Australia, with two million units of the first series selling during its first nine months in the market.

Yowie products are also sold through Walmart and Safeway in the US, and the company is launching its fourth series there in July.

“Launching our second series in Australia and being stocked in Woolies has been a boost for the team and we’ll work to get it nationwide, it's a proud moment for an Australian Brand,” Yowie Group chairman Louis Carroll said.
