Western Australia is poised to get its first 7-Eleven as the retail franchise sets out on its first expansion into a new market in 32 years.

The first store is scheduled to open its doors on 30 October at 100 High Street in Fremantle.

The company says it has seen a large number of existing franchisees express an interest in moving to the west to take up the initial franchises.

The company said it will initially work with some of its more experienced franchisees to establish the 7-Eleven brand in Western Australia.

“We have some outstanding Franchisees that we’ve selected to come to WA to franchise the first few stores,” says 7-Eleven CEO, Warren Wilmot.

He says strong interest has been shown by landlords, agents and developers eager to work with 7-Eleven on business opportunities and 7-Eleven is interested in stand-alone stores and fuel sites with good footfall and customer traffic flow.

The aim is to open 75 stores in Western Australia in the next five years, he says.
