Dairy innovations such as a washed rind cheese made for Aldi were included in the winners' list announced by the Dairy Industry Association.

The DIAA’s Australian Dairy Product Competition culminated in a gala dinner in Melbourne on 13 May following a judging process involving more than 1000 entries in over 100 categories.

The judges awarded 151 gold medals and 844 silver medals to dairy products from Australia.

Gold medal winners were then invited to enter the Australian Grand Dairy Awards run by Dairy Australia.

Emporium Selection Washed Rind, a cheese made for Aldi by Snow Brand Australia in Nowra, NSW was crowned Australia’s best cheese and the most outstanding show exhibit.

Victoria’s Dooley’s Ice Cream proved the most consistent for the third year in a row, with most of Dooley’s products entered into the competition earning gold or silver medals.

Ferial Zekiman from the Maffra Cheese Company was awarded the title of Australia’s best cheesemaker, for Maffra Cloth Aged Cheddar.

The World Packaging Organisation has named 234 winners for the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2026, which were selected from 481 entries submitted across 36 countries.
