Wine business, Australian Vintage, has reappointed Craig Garvin as chief executive officer, after he was dismissed in May for conduct the board said, “displayed a lack of judgement and was inconsistent with the values of the company and the high standards expected of its CEO”.

Since his dismissal, the board has changed entirely, with new members Margaret Zabel, James Williamson, Elaine Teh, and Michael Byrne joining throughout July and August.

Williamson is the new chairman, and said the appointment followed an external search that considered a number of exceptional candidates.

“After a thorough review of the circumstances and processes surrounding his departure from Australian Vintage in May, the board felt it was important for Craig to be involved in the search process,” said Williamson.
