Swiss technology group, Bühler, has acquired German fermentation technology company, Esau & Hueber, to enhance its malting, brewery, and sustainable protein businesses.

Esau & Hueber is an independently managed manufacturer with 42 employees and supports its clients in all project phases. It designs and builds high-tech facilities and develops advanced processing technology.

Esau & Hueber holds strong expertise in yeast and fermentation management, as well as automation. The company will continue to operate from its headquarters in Schrobenhausen.

Bühler CEO of grains & food business, Johannes Wick, said the acquisition aligned with the company’s long-term strategic objectives.

“By leveraging Esau & Hueber's strengths in brewery and sustainable protein areas, we can provide superior solutions to our customers in these sectors,” said Wick.

“This strategic acquisition is set to fill technological gaps and strengthen Bühler's position as an industry innovator.”

The integration of Esau & Hueber will commence immediately, with specialised teams from both companies working closely to ensure a seamless integration process.

Bühler is a global group with an office in Melbourne, which supplies the Oceania region with solutions for grain handling, milling, malting, brewing, nuts and seeds processing, chocolate production, meat alternatives and for animals petfood and animal feed production.
