Garlo’s Pies are set to be on the menu of 20 McDonald’s restaurants across the ACT following a deal between the two Aussie companies.

The Lean Beef Pie and Curry Beef Pie will be available at McDonald's locations across the state until January as part of a six-month trial.

Garlo's managing director Sean Garlick felt his products would be a good fit for the fast food chain.

Restaurants taking part in the trial are: Belconnen, Belconnen Westfield Food Court, Braddon, Canberra Centre, Canberra City, Charnwood, Conder, Cooma, Dickson, Erindale, Fyshwick, Gold Creek, Gungahlin, Kippax, Majura Park, Manuka Plaza, Mitchell, Tuggeranong, Weston, Woden Westfield, Queanbeyan and Sutton Forest North, and Southbound.

Sean Garlick is a former rugby league player who started Garlo's in 2001 with his brother Nathan, a trained pastry cook, and his father Terry, a former wharfie.

They started out in a small bakery in Maroubra after Sean finished up his NRL career.

In 2014, the company opened in the US, baking pies fresh everyday at a Garlo's store in Los Angeles.
