Riverina-based company, Meditrina Beverages, has acquired the family-owned winery Warburn Estate. Warburn was established in 1968 by the Sergi family.

Meditrina Beverages is owned by the Griffith-based Taliano family, which will take over the land, plant, equipment, trademarks, intellectual property, and the cellar door.

Meditrina MD Anthony Taliano said the family was excited about the new venture and working with local growers.

Riverina-based company, Meditrina Beverages, has acquired the family-owned winery Warburn Estate. Warburn was established in 1968 by the Sergi family.

“The Sergi family has been an integral and respected leader in the wine industry in this region for more than 55 years, and we hope to build on their good work. We wish them well in their future endeavours.”

Taliano said Warburn Estate had become one of Australia’s leading family-owned wineries. With four generations of winemakers and over 55 years of experience, it had established a reputation for over-delivering on affordable wines from the Riverina.

Fourth-generation Antonio Sergi, welcomed the deal, saying it was time for to step back and focus on family.

“We welcome the Taliano family into the wine industry and know that their passion for local agriculturally based business will see the brands and history of the company continue. We know that they will have great success in this region and beyond,” Sergi said.

“We have great respect for the Sergi family and the impact they have had on the Australian wine industry. We are committed to honouring the Sergi legacy as we bring their portfolio of outstanding wines into our very own,” added Taliano.

As part of the transition process, Meditrina Beverages will work closely with the Sergi family to ensure a smooth transition.
