This time last year, Nedd Brockmann ran across Australia to raise money to support the homeless. Now, he wants to raise $10 million with his Choccy and Iced Coffee milks launching into Woolworths.

Chocolate milk was the one product Brockmann had every single day of his 2022 run, but he couldn’t find one that was perfect, and decided to make his own, while also finding a way to continue supporting the homeless.

Brockmann launched the Nedd’s Milk range last month, and embarked on a ‘milk run’ across the country in his van called Ronda, saying thank-you to everyone who had supported him on his 2022 run and to try and garner interest to distribute his new Choccy and Iced Coffee Milks.

Nedd Brockmann had a chocolate milk at the end of each day of his 2022 run, they were good, but not great, so he made his own blend – Nedd’s Milk.

Brockmann’s milk run campaign went viral on social media and also caught the attention of Woolworths, who will now stock Nedd’s Choccy Milk and Nedd’s Iced Coffee in stores across the country.

“I’m extremely blown away by the support. You’ve got to make the most of life and when the opportunity to be able to make a choccy milk company presented itself I was all-in.

“To be picked up by Woolworths and stocked in their stores is an absolute privilege and I’m very excited to work together. This will allow us to be able to bring more good into this world, while sipping on a terrific choccy milk. The more milk we sell, the more people we help,” said Brockmann.

Nedd’s Milk is made with farm fresh milk sourced from the Fleurieu Peninsula and the Adelaide Hills by manufacturer Bickfords, packaged in a plastic recycled PET bottle sourced in Australia.

Woolworths commercial director chilled and bakery, Jason McQuaid said Woolworths had been inspired by Brockmann’s story and his feat of running across Australia for charity.

“We’re honoured to be the first supermarket to sell Nedd’s Choccy Milk and Iced Coffee to
help them on their mission to raise ten million dollars.

“Woolworths is part of communities right across the country and we’re really pleased to
support initiatives like this that give back to the community,” said McQuaid.

Nedd’s Choccy Milk and Iced Coffee are available in more than 800 Woolworths supermarkets and Woolworths Metro stores. Proceeds from each bottle sold will go towards Brockmann’s $10 million goal for homeless charity Mobilise.

Packaging News

In a collaborative effort, Kimberly-Clark Australia and Woolworths have successfully completed a packaging trial aimed at eliminating the use of secondary plastic packaging for Viva paper towels. The initiative, now set to become standard practice, is projected to save 15 tonnes of plastic annually.

John Cerini has stepped down as CEO of Pro-Pac, with Ian Shannon, who was chief operating officer of the company, taking over the role, and becoming managing director.

Sustainable packaging achievements were recognised at the APCO Annual Awards in Sydney last night. The event celebrated organisations, and individuals, driving change towards the 2025 National Packaging Targets and beyond. PKN was there.
