OzHarvest founder Ronni Kahn has announced she will step down as CEO, succeeded by James Goth. Khan will continue in a new role at OzHarvest and will remain on the board.
Over the past year, the OzHarvest board and Khan have led a search and recruitment process to find ‘the perfect person’ as Khan’s successor.
“It’s been nearly 20 years since I started OzHarvest and I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved and am truly thankful to everyone who has been part of our journey.
“To secure our future for the next 20 years, the time has come for me to pass the baton over to a new CEO who will lead us into our next exciting chapter,” said Kahn.
Goth will join OzHarvest as CEO in March 2024, while Khan moves into her new role as visionary-in-residence.
“I’ll be focusing on the things that I love: relationship building, finding new friends, new supporters, and thinking about what else OzHarvest can be doing to make the biggest impact,” said Kahn.
Goth is currently CEO of Seven Group, and has previously held senior executive roles at Woolworths and Boston Consulting Group, and has served on the boards of non-for-profit ActionAid Australia and data company Quantium.
“James brings immense wisdom along with business, operations and leadership experience and a deep personal connection to purpose-driven, not-for-profit work. He is a wonderful human and is the perfect fit for our family culture, to build on the very strong foundations and lead OzHarvest into the future.
“There is still so much more we need to do, and the issues at the core of our mission have never been more pressing. OzHarvest has never been better placed to influence positive change in Australia and overseas, and I’m deeply grateful for your continued support,” said Kahn.
