Italy-based SIPA, represented in the local market by HBM Plastics & Packaging Technologies, has introduced a new line of machines called Start Blow that are pitched at companies entering the PET bottle market.

The machines are compact and are designed with a user-friendly interface and a simple and reliable preform loading system to suit market entrants.

SIPA’s general manager, Enrico Gribaudo, said the market for bottled water continued to grow at eight per cent each year, but the growth was shifting to emerging markets.

“With Start Blow, we are meeting the needs of new entrants into the market, and we are offering a solution that fits with local requirements,” he said.

“When companies start up, they need to learn to walk before they run, and learning with Start Blow is very easy.”

The machines come in two models – either two or four cavities – and can produce between 2000 and 6000 bottles per hour.

Both versions are fully electric, with servo drives governing principal movements, including stretch rods. Every machine axis movement is under closed loop control.

Both models also incorporate existing SIPA technologies such as low-energy infrared heating, a high-efficiency neck air cooling system and quick and precise stretch and blow functions.

The ‘Start Blow’ range will be manufactured in SIPA’s China facility.
