Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) says Queensland’s reputation for quality produce is driving international interest in health and wellness products being produced in the state.

TIQ CEO, Justin McGowan, said Queensland-based health and wellness producers have established a reputation for innovation and excellence internationally.

“These businesses are dedicated to producing only the best using local flavours and ingredients and subsequently have built valuable confidence with international buyers.

“Producers and manufacturers in our state stay on top of market trends, often incorporating cutting edge production and processing facilities to maintain high quality and world-class safety standards,” McGowan said.

To promote health and wellness food and beverage producers in a more comprehensive, centralised way, TIQ has created the 2024 Queensland Health and Wellness Directory.

The agency said the state’s “exceptional” fresh produce meant food manufacturers could produce “everything from exotically flavoured beverages to health promoting food and naturally nutritious snacks”.

“Queensland’s health and wellness producers are renowned for excellence in functional food and beverage, nutraceutical, contract manufacturing, and sports nutrition sectors,” it added, having noticed a marked increase in demand from global buyers and distributors.

TIQ runs a range of initiatives to help businesses reach international markets. Its buyer trade missions, called Taste of Queensland, run domestically and internationals. On home soil TIQ brings international buyers to the state and guides them through its regions through a series of tasting events, business matching, and site tours. The international program visits overseas markets, providing direct exposure for Queensland manufacturers.

“The unique variety and exceptional range of Queensland health and wellness products featured in this Directory is a testament to the initiative and commitment in our great state,” McGowan said.
