SunRice is polling its farmer shareholders about listing the company on the Australian Stock Exchange to attract new investors.
If the SunRice board finds support for a capital restructure, the company could be listed on the ASX this year, according a report in The Australian.
SunRice makes and exports packaged rice and other snack food products and ingredients under the SunRice and Always Fresh labels.
Recently, Murray Goulburn raised $500 million in a partial ASX float. Like Murray Goulburn, the SunRice capital structure would be designed to preserve control by its farmer shareholders, according to the report.
