The Western Australian government is assisting agrifood and beverage businesses to capture export market opportunities at five upcoming international trade events, held across Asia and the Middle East.

Food, beverage and hospitality events have proven to be a strong avenue for Western Australian businesses to showcase their products and establish trade relationships. The state’s agrifood and beverage exports sector is stated to be thriving, with 2023-24 exports exceeding $13 billion, and a five-year average annual growth rate of 12 per cent.

The government is encouraging interested businesses in the sector to submit an expression of interest to participate in key trade exhibitions.

These include:

  • Gulfood, Dubai (17-21 Feb 2025) + Qatar Mission (23-24 Feb 2025).
  • FOODEX, Tokyo (11-14 Mar 2025).
  • Food Hotel Asia, Singapore (8-11 April 2025) + Indonesia Trade Mission: Jakarta and Bali (13-17 April 2025).
  • HOFEX, Hong Kong (14-16 May 2025).
  • CP Group’s Global Sourcing Expo, Bangkok (early June 2025, date TBC).

With government support, 89 Western Australian businesses represented their brands at five international agrifood and beverage trade shows in 2023-24 at Tokyo, Shanghai, London, Singapore and Dubai. Previous participating businesses spanned honey, dairy, seafood, red meat, bakery, packaged foods and alcoholic beverages.

Agriculture and Food Minister, Jackie Jarvis, said the Western Australian government plays a key role in facilitating introductions at these events, helping businesses to build connections and confidence to present their offerings to potential customers.

“Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development trade specialists also coordinate in-market briefings, business matching, market insights tours and explore export leads that help participants build trade relationships,” said Jarvis.

“This work all helps WA businesses to capitalise on strong global demand for premium products – generating flow-on benefits that drive communities and regional economies. I encourage agrifood and beverage businesses across the State to express their interest in being a part of these international trade events in 2025.”

A free online information session will be held on 19 November for interested parties to find out more about the process and how businesses have benefited from previous trade events.
