Registrations are now open for the packaging industry's biennial AIP National Conference, to be held in the Sunshine State in May.
The conference will host 56 speakers, including 24 international speakers from 18 countries, according to organisers.
Spanning two days over 2 and 3 May and to be held at Marriott Hotel, Surfers Paradise, the event is targeted at packaging designers, technologists, engineers, and sales and marketing professionals.
The biennial AIP National Conference is the largest packaging and processing event of its kind in Australia and New Zealand.
Run by industry for industry, it has been leading the way in professional and personal development for decades, and is a part of the annual Packaging & Processing Week.
In 2018, member countries from the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) will be heading to Australia to speak and participate.
The AIP is also hosting the prestigious international WorldStar Packaging Awards and the 2018 PIDA Awards. There will also be a gala dinner, Women in Industry breakfast forum, and five editors from the International Packaging Press Organisation (IPPO) as guest speakers during the event. Over 30 countries are expected to be represented.
Keynote speakers include: Orora's Nigel Garrard, Sealed Air's Karl Deily, Shine's Steven Chapman, McCormick & Company's Jacqui Wilson-Smith, and ABB's Alan Spreckley.
PACKAGING JOURNOS FLY IN
The International Packaging Press Organisation (IPPO) is contributing to the conference by sending out five packaging editors from around the world. The peer-reviewed journalists include: Pat Reynolds, Packaging World (US), Steven Pacitti, Plastics in Packaging (UK), Lindy Hughson MAIP, PKN Packaging News + Food and Drink Business (ANZ), Des King, The Write Stuff (UK) and Andrew Manly, Active & Intelligent Packaging Association (UK).
PIDA AWARDS + WORLDSTAR PACKAGING AWARDS
The AIP will be hosting the 2018 PIDA and WorldStar Packaging Awards as the gala dinner on 2 May. The PIDA awards are the exclusive entry point for a number of categories for the WorldStar Packaging Awards. The 2018 event will be an international gala dinner with over 40 countries anticipated to take part.
WOMEN IN INDUSTRY BREAKFAST
PKN Packaging News and Food & Drink Business will be hosting their inaugural Women in Industry breakfast event on 3 May. The breakfast format will include a keynote speaker followed by a panel discussion featuring influential and inspiring women working in the food, beverage and packaging industry. With the theme of Bridging the Gender Gap, the event will explore initiatives in Australian companies which make positive changes for female employees.
FUNDAMENTALS IN PACKAGING TRAINING
This session is an exclusive opportunity to meet one of the US-based trainers from the Fundamentals of Packaging Technology Course which is available online through the AIP. Jane Chase, CEO of the IoPP in the US, will be presenting three of the most popular modules on 3 May.
