The Food & Drink Business Podcast Episode 5: SPC CEO Robert Giles

SPC CEO Robert Giles: leading a heritage brand on an aggressive growth path

Food & Drink Business editor Kim Berry talks to SPC CEO Robert Giles about leading a heritage brand on an aggressive growth journey.

Following the successful separation from Coca-Cola Amatil, Robert tells us that SPC is now determined to become a $1.5 billion company within three years. We look at how the leadership team is managing change and engaging staff in achieving that goal.

We discuss Robert’s first year in the job and the milestones for the company – acquisitions, local skill development, new products and of course, navigating COVID-19.

We then look at the impact of the pandemic including consumers stocking up on goods and keeping retailers stocked. This leads to a discussion of weather impacts and other issues that make agriculture businesses a dynamic environment to operate in.

The episode wraps up with a discussion of SPC's plans for 2021.
