Woolworths has launched two new limited-edition hot cross bun flavours in the lead up to Easter.

After selling over 72 million hot cross buns in 2018, Woolies is taking inspiration from two popular deserts with a Banana & Caramel Hot Cross Bun and a White Chocolate & Raspberry Hot Cross Bun, both sold in four-packs.

“The limited-edition flavours of Banana & Caramel and Raspberry & White Choc have the perfect combination of dessert-like sweetness to compliment the classic fruit inclusions.” Woolworths head of bakery Ben Thompson said.

“Our team of bakers had a lot of fun sampling new flavour combinations to come up with these two additions to the Easter range and we are confident they’re going to become a hot favourite with our customers.”

The new limited hot cross buns join the existing Woolworths range of Brioche Style Hot Cross Bun with Fruit, Traditional Hot Cross Bun, Fruitless Hot Cross Bun and the Mini Cadbury Chocolate Chip Hot Cross Bun, with all packs $3.50.

Woolworths say its new limited-edition Hot Cross Bun Ice Cream has also been very popular since it launched at the start of the year.
