The latest hard seltzer to join the market, Delvi Sparkling Alcoholic Seltzer, aims to set itself apart from the pack using locally farmed organic ingredients and pure Australian water.

Founder Mike Vati said the priorities were clear, to create a uniquely Australian take on a beverage taking off around the world.

Vati has partnered with Dean Grant to bring the brand to life. The range offers a low sugar, low carb alternative to beer, wine and cider, without compromising on flavour. They are also gluten free and vegan friendly.

Vati was founder of Lush Productions, which brought some of the most recognised brands in the skate, surf and lifestyle markets to Australia. Grant had launched hospitality establishments and alcohol brands, including ASM Liquor/VODKAO and in the US, a premium vodka VDKA6100 with Robert De Niro.

The pair are working with independent beverage company True East Beverages to produce the Delvi range.

Working with local farmers to source high quality organic ingredients and cold-pressing to preserve active phytonutrients and natural minerals, the result is Delvi’s new Blood Orange Passion and Desert Lime Sparkling Alcoholic Seltzer, to make an unapologetically Australian made seltzer.

Vati said: “We wanted the international markets take us seriously and see that over here in Australia we know what makes a great refreshing seltzer to be enjoyed.”

Recent NATA accredited analysis reports from Agrifoods for DELVI Blood Orange Passion and Desert Lime variants confirm trace amounts of Vitamin C and natural minerals found in the extracts.

The seltzers are made from locally sourced, organic wild harvested native organic fruit and plant extracts, cold pressed in a patented process that retains active phytonutrients.

DELVI has created a strategic localised partnership with a Byron Bay extract producer to supply locally sourced organic fruit extract that set its seltzers apart from the rest of the market.

The seltzers feature:

  • perfectly carbonated pure Australian water;
  • patented cold press extract process retaining active phytonutrients and minerals;
  • ACO accredited organic extracts;
  • no synthetic flavours; and
  • 5 x distilled and blended (not brewed, as brewing process involves filtering to produce a clear liquid which filters out the nutrients and minerals).

Packaging News

APCO has released its 2022-23 Australian Packaging Consumption and Recovery Data Report, the second report released this year in line with its commitment to improving timeliness and relevance of data.

The AFGC has welcomed government progress towards implementing clear, integrated and consistent changes to packaging across Australia, but says greater clarity is needed on design standards.

It’s been a tumultuous yet progressive year in packaging in Australia, with highs and lows playing out against a backdrop of uncertainty caused in part by the dangling sword of DCCEEW’s proposed Packaging Reform, and in part by the mounting pressure of rising manufacturing costs.
