Largo’s Clean Lager has been named the Country Winner for Light Lager at the 2024 World Beer Awards. The accolade marks a significant milestone for Largo, which has set out to disrupt the light lager category, with its unique blend of sustainability initiatives and classic Australian brewing.

The World Drinks Awards are a global awards program celebrating international drinks. Presented by TheDrinksReport.com, an online resource for drinks professionals, the World Drinks Awards select, reward and promote what it considers the world’s best drinks to consumers and trade across the globe.

Spearheaded by Oli and Louis from the band Lime Cordiale, Largo is Australia’s first beer to be accredited by Climate Active, a government body that certifies products that have undergone a process to reduce or offset some of its carbon emissions.

The company states that with its vibrant and quintessential “Aussie” appearance, Largo remains true to its roots as an easy-drinking, refreshing lager, designed to appeal to a broad audience of beer lovers.

The win at the World Beer Awards highlights Largo’s commitment to quality and innovation in the brewing industry. Light Lager, as defined by style rather than alcohol by volume (ABV), is a category that Largo aims to redefine with its eco-conscious credentials and modern, creative-driven appeal.

“We are incredibly proud to have Largo recognised on the global stage,” said Oli and Louis, co-founders of Largo.

“Winning the Country Winner award for Light Lager is a testament to our dedication to creating a beer that not only tastes great but also aligns with our commitment to striving for sustainability. We’re thrilled to bring new energy to this category.”

Largo Clean Lager is available at major liquor retailers for RRP $19.99 in a six-pack or $59.99 in a case of 24.
