Victoria’s family- owned olive grove Mount Zero Olives has re-released its Yuzu Extra Virgin Olive Oil and developed a new Dirty Olive Brine and Marinated Olive pouches to expand its range.

Yuzu

After a sell-out run earlier in the year, Mount Zero has re-released its signature Yuzu Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The agrumato-style oil is a collaboration with citrus growers Mountain Yuzu.

Olive Brine

The new Dirty Olive Brine has been made in collaboration with local producers Maidenii and Grainshaker. Through natural fermentation, the filtered brine has been created as a by-product of the olive curing process.

It can be used in a martini, bloody mary or in salad dressings, pasta sauces and homemade hummus.

Olive pouches

The Marinated Olive Pouches have been released in a new look and are made for on-the-go snacking.

The olive pouches are available in three flavours which include Salt Cured Kalamata Olives, Citrus & Thyme MarinateOlives and Pepperberry & Roseberry Marinated Olives.

The Yuzu Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Dirty Olive Brine and Marinated Olive Pouches are sold for RRP $25.95, $12.95 and $4.50 respectively.

Packaging News

Sicut Enterprises and Close the Loop have received $5m and $2.4m in government grants respectively to develop projects that will see 12,000 tonnes of hard-to-recycle plastics recycled into materials for local manufacturing.

In a collaborative effort, Kimberly-Clark Australia and Woolworths have successfully completed a packaging trial aimed at eliminating the use of secondary plastic packaging for Viva paper towels. The initiative, now set to become standard practice, is projected to save 15 tonnes of plastic annually.

John Cerini has stepped down as CEO of Pro-Pac, with Ian Shannon, who was chief operating officer of the company, taking over the role, and becoming managing director.
