PepsiCo Australia has released Simply, a new range of corn and potato chips with a 4 Star Health Star Rating. The four products were developed with Woolworths for the better-for-you market.

PepsiCo says many snacking products delivering complex claims and conflicting nutritional information were making it difficult for consumers to know what and how to choose. Simply was created with help from Woolworths to demonstrate that better-for-you chips can be tasty, without complex ingredients or nutrition jargon.

Simply corn chips contain 40 per cent less sodium and the potato chips contain 25 per cent less fat.

Simply varieties are: Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper chips, Sour Cream & Chives chips, Zesty Lime and Chili corn chips, and Lightly Seasoned corn chips.

To launch the brand, Simply has partnered with nutritionist, dietitian, and HealthyLife board member, Lyndi Cohen, who said it was encouraging to see snack brands developing healthier options.

“The introduction of Simply with its 4-health star rating, as well as less fat and sodium is exciting to see.

"Opting for better for you snacks, rather than less nutritious snacking options can make a positive impact on your wellbeing”, said Cohen.

The range is available excusively at Woolworths nationally.
