Smith’s has teamed up with Subway, Red Rooster, and Mad Mex to launch the Taste Icons range. Available for a limited time only, the range comes in five flavours: Subway Crinkle Meatball Sub, Subway Crinkle Pizza Sub, Subway Crinkle Chicken Teriyaki Sub, Red Rooster Crinkle Reds Fried Chicken Burger, and Mad Mex Double Crunch Hot Sauce.

Sam O’Donnell, marketing manager at Smith’s said the chip company was known for its flavour creations and collaborations, and jumped at the new opportunity.

“Smith’s is famous for its flavours, and this range will bring some new flavours to life on our crinkle cut chips. The Taste Icons range with Subway, Mad Mex and Red Rooster is our biggest brand collaboration yet,” said O’Donnell.

Subway ANZ head of marketing, Rodica Titeica, said that like Smith’s, Subway was equally as driven to provide quality and taste.

Smith’s Red Rooster collaboration is the Crinkle Reds Fried Chicken Burger flavour.

“We know there can be snacking periods in between lunch and dinner, and partnering with Smith’s allows Aussies to access Subway flavours in another form,” said Titeica.

Red Rooster marketing director, Ashley Hughes, said the company looked forward to its popular Reds Burger featuring in a crinkle cut format.

“Nothing sums up the Rooster's Call better than our Reds Burger and we can't wait to share that in the Taste Icons range,” said Hughes.

Mad Mex CEO and founder, Clovis Young says its hot sauces are frequently ‘borrowed’ from restaurants regularly, and are answering bringing the flavour to supermarket shelves, for the first time ever.

“When we were approached by Smith’s to partner on a Mad Mex Hot Sauce infused chip, we knew we could come up with something special for our customers,” said Young.

The Taste Icons range is available to purchase from Coles, Woolworths and other independent retailers. Smith’s Subway Meatball Sub flavour available exclusively at Coles.
