Glenfiddich has released Grand Yozakura, the very first Single Malt Scotch Whisky to be finished in Okinawa’s rare ex-Awamori cask, the latest release in Glenfiddich’s Grand Series.
Grand Yozakura, matured at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, has been finished in oak casks previously cradling Japan's oldest distilled alcoholic spirit, Awamori.
Awamori, crafted from long-grain indica rice and traditionally stored in clay pots, is matured in oak casks with a technique unchanged for over 500 years.
The 29-year-old whisky is a limited-edition fusion with a harmonious blend of flavours from Scotland and Japan is exclusive, with only 315 bottles available for purchase in Australia.
The bottle is packed within a box featuring a signature illustration with a bespoke topper and a traditional poem printed on each specially designed casing.
Grand Yozakura is part of Glenfiddich's Grand Series, which includes Grand Reserva, Grand Cru, and Grand Couronne, and is available exclusively at Dan Murphy's and Vintage Cellars for $2,760 AUD.
