November marked the start of Tropic Co's Australian Tiger Prawn season, with almost 200 million on the menu over the festive period.

The tiger prawns are farmed and processed within just a few hours of harvest from November through to May from Tropic Co's farms in Queensland and New South Wales.

Tropic Co believes that this year will be the biggest season ever for Tiger Prawn consumption, with more families and entertainers looking for food that is healthy, versatile and sure to impress a crowd, either served at home or shared in venue. Known for their vibrant and distinctive orange tiger stripes, the season promises to produce the highest quality Australian grown Tiger Prawns.

Tropic Co expects to sustainably farm approximately 200 million Australian Tiger Prawns this season, which equates to seven prawns for every Australian. With enough prawns to make 35 million prawn cocktails, fresh Tiger Prawns will be enjoyed from now through to Easter, 2023, with Christmas shining a spotlight on the quintessential Australian produce.

Additionally, Tropic Co is celebrating the launch of a new hospitality campaign, Prawn Bucket SUNdays, that begins in November at over 350 hotels, pubs and clubs across the country, encouraging all Australians to support their closest venue this summer by dropping in to enjoy a bucket of quality Tropic Co Tiger Prawns.

Matt Vince, Tropic Co head of sales and marketing, says, “We are expecting our highest demand ever for Tropic Co Tiger Prawns this season. We know Aussies love prawns for Christmas and Easter, but theyʼre also learning they can enjoy delicious Tiger Prawns all summer long because theyʼre so versatile, healthy and very easy to use.”

Tropic Coʼs Aussie Tiger Prawns pack are flavourful whilst also being an excellent source of Omega 3, high in fibre, low in fat and low in cholesterol.

Tropic Co Australian Tiger Prawns can be shipped fresh or frozen, direct from farm to supermarkets , fishmongers and hospitality venues.
