Red Bull has released The Purple Edition, an açaí berry flavoured version of the beverage. It is the sixth release in the range and the first sugar free option.

Red Bull says the flavour is inspired after the take-off of açaí in Australia more than eight years ago. The ingredient has since become a staple in almost every smoothie bowl ordered across the country.

To celebrate the launch, top Red Bull athletes such as Mick Fanning, Scotty James, Jess Fox, Toby Price and Rhiannan Iffland appeared in social media video poking some light-hearted fun at the many ways Aussies pronounce açaí.

The Red Bull Editions range combines the wings of Red Bull Energy Drink with specific tastes including Apricot-Strawberry, Tropical Fruits, Pomegranate, Watermelon, and Dragonfruit.

Red Bull Purple Edition is now available in all major supermarkets, independents and convenience stores.
