WeightWatchers has launched its Meals to Support Immunity range featuring Wellmune, a natural fibre scientifically proven to improve immune health by training the immune system to better detect and react to viruses, bacteria, and other disease-causing pathogens.

Patties Foods, the manufacturer of WeightWatchers’ frozen ready meals, says its Meals to Support Immunity range is part of its commitment to boosting the health of Australians.

Patties Foods GM of marketing, Innovation and International Anand Surujpal said the company recognised that health was no longer just about weight loss.

“Incorporating Wellmune into our offerings will complement Patties Foods’ role in redefining, innovating, and building products that meet the needs of today’s consumers, such as ready meals.

“We recognise that health is no longer just about weight loss, it’s about balancing and maintaining health goals. We take a holistic approach to supporting our customers’ goals by educating through nutrition science to inspire healthy eating choices and connecting a global community through sustainable, healthy habits that last,” said Surujpal.

Wellmune is a yeast beta glucan – or soluble fibre – that is already used in more than 400 food, beverage, and supplement products worldwide. Trusted by nutrition experts, it has been shown by more than a dozen clinical studies to improve general immune health, maintain overall physical health, protect against the harmful effects of stress, and promote healthy energy levels and mental clarity.

It is the first time Wellmune has been used in a frozen ready meals range in Australia, with WeightWatchers incorporating its scientifically proven, global Points program into the new products to make nutritional science and weight loss simple for customers.

Each product in the Meals to Support Immunity range holds a 3.5-star Australian health rating, with more than 10 grams of protein and free of artificial colours and flavours.

The Meals to Support Immunity range offers two flavours: Italian Style Chicken Risotto with Greens, and Yellow Vegetable Curry with Brown Rice.

The new meals are complemented by WeightWatchers’ recently released Meals for Energy functional range, which features low GI ingredients in flavour-packed meals including Beef Rendang, and Teriyaki Chicken.

WeightWatchers’ Meals to Support Immunity range is available at Coles for RRP AUD$7.50 per meal.
