The a2 Milk Company chief operating officer Shareef Khan has resigned, saying he wants to spend more time with his family and explore other pursuits. Khan has been with the company since 2012.

His resignation will see the company retire the role and replace it with a chief supply chain officer to bring operations and manufacturing under one leadership role.

A2 Milk managing director and CEO David Bortolussi said Khan had navigated operations through “extraordinary times” and had played an important role in the company’s growth.

The new chief supply chain officer will lead a2 Milk’s end-to-end supply chain in all categories and markets. They will also join the executive leadership team.

The company expects to announce the new appointment in the coming weeks.
