Australian gas company BOC is ramping up its production of dry ice and creating new collection hubs in a $4 million expansion plan.

As part of the plan, BOC is rolling out new ICEBITZZZ dry-ice production and retail hubs to increase access to dry ice, which is used in a range of industries including hospitality and catering, the wine industry, and in cold chain logistics.

The retail facilities, also known as ICEBITZZZ Collect, will produce their own dry ice on site for collection.

The company has established its IHubs at its Gas & Gear retail outlets in the Queensland towns of Mackay and Labrador as well as Canberra in the ACT, Dandenong in Victoria, Mount Gambier in South Australia, the West Australian mining hub of Karratha and the New Zealand wine region of Palmerston North.

BOC will also manufacture dry ice at more production facilities, including at Townsville and Rocklea in Queensland, Preston in Victoria, Torrensville in South Australia, Canning Vale in WA, Darwin in the Northern Territory and the New Zealand cities of Christchurch and Auckland.

“When it comes to dry ice, we closely work together with leading manufacturers of dry-ice equipment, scientific institutions and specialist technicians, enabling us to develop uniquely innovative solutions that are tailor-made for optimal results,’’ he said.
