Fast food company Domino's now offers the option of pizzas with vegan cheese.

Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight said the launch of pizzas using vegan cheese follows a survey on the company’s Facebook page late last year which tested demand for the product.

“We were blown away by the response to the survey and for this product in general,” he said.

"The demand for vegan products has increased considerably over the years, so it’s great we are now able to offer this high-quality, non-GMO, plant-based and preservative-free option."

Knight said the cheese was tested in the company's LuvLab development kitchen to ensure it had the same taste, texture, and melt as real dairy cheese.

The vegan cheese used by Domino's is also cholesterol-free.
