Poultry company Ingham’s will expand its Western Australian operations over three years as part of a $70m plan to double production.

The expansion of its farming, milling and processing capacity will involve an upgrade of its relocated facilities in Muchea near Perth.

The upgrade will include the construction of a new state-of-the-art feed mill and a new hatchery, and will reportedly create 400 jobs in WA.

The company will sell its Wanneroo facility in WA, where the hatchery and feed mill are currently located, with this site to be leased back to the company during the construction period.

Ingham’s has also recently contracted new growers and boosted shedding capacity among its current WA suppliers to build capacity.

Much of the $70m invested across the production supply chain would come from its contract partners, according to Ingham.
