Australian sparkling wine house, Jansz Tasmania, part of Hill-Smith Family Estates, has appointed Teresa Heuzenroeder as its new Senior Sparkling Winemaker.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Heuzenroeder, had worked with the Hill-Smith family earlier in her career.

Most recently, she has been working for Endeavour Group’s Paragon Estates as a Senior Sparkling Winemaker, on labels including Oakridge in the Yarra Valley and Josef Chromy in Tasmania.

Heuzenroeder said returning to Tasmania felt like “coming home”, with its climate, vineyards, and sparkling winemaking tradition.

“Jansz Tasmania is an iconic name in Australian sparkling wine, celebrated for its exceptional quality and commitment to tradition. I’m excited to work with Tasmania’s outstanding vineyards and take Jansz Tasmania to new heights, especially as we prepare for the 40th anniversary celebrations in 2026,” Heuzenroeder said.

Hill-Smith Family Estates Proprietor, Robert Hill-Smith, said, “Teresa has an exceptional palate and a natural flair for chardonnay and sparkling wine, making her the ideal person to continue the legacy of Jansz Tasmania.”
