The LittleOak Company, which produces certified palm oil free baby formulas and toddler drinks, has commenced operations in the US with its New Zealand-made milks now being packaged in California.

LittleOak’s Goat Milk Toddler Drink has a strong consumer  following in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore and was the first formula to be 100 percent certified palm oil free by the internationally recognised Palm Oil Free Certification Accreditation Programme (POFCAP).

LittleOak founder and CEO Elke Pascoe said its US-based packaging and shipping operations would improve its carbon footprint and consumer experience for US families.

“During the recent infant formula shortage in the US, a small but loyal following of American families sought out LittleOak to nourish their children. Several years on, we are so excited to be packaging our Stage 3 Natural Goat Milk Toddler Drink in the US, and shipping directly to families.

“We see this as just the start of our journey here. With fast local shipping, it will be quicker than ever before for American families to access the most natural toddler drink in the world, and also one of the most sustainable,” said Pascoe.

World-first for toddler drinks

While most formula productions follow a common process of heating and treating the milk several times to create formula, LittleOak uses a From Fresh process and heats the milk only once, halving the heating process to preserve the natural vitamins present in goat milk.

“From the beginning, we were very clear on our commitment to reject chemical processing and adopt a less-is-more processing approach, avoiding unnecessary synthetic ingredients to ensure every parent and their child had a natural alternative to traditional toddler drinks,” said Pascoe.

Little Oak products contain vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, iron and taurine. Goat milk naturally contains A2 protein, and has naturally occurring prebiotics (oligosaccharides) and lower levels of lactose (than cow milk), resulting in less allergies and digestive stress.

“Goat milk is the original superfood and a powerhouse of nutrition for children and adults alike. Dating as far back as 2000 years ago, goat milk was once the preferred source of milk over cow milk because of its nutritional value,” said Pascoe.

LittleOak’s Stage 3 (1-4 years) Toddler Drink, made specifically for the US market, will now be packaged in California and feature imperial measurements for US families.
