Nestle Australia's profits have risen on the back of cost cutting initiatives for the year ending December 2015.

The Swiss company's Australian profits were $179 million and the company also sent $187 million in dividends back to its parent in 2015, according to a Fairfax Media report.

The profit rise on the previous year was 71 per cent due to one-off impairments in 2014, although the underlying profit was 15 per cent higher, according to the report.

Nestle brands include Uncle Tobys, Kit Kat, Maggi and Nespresso, as well as Allen's confectionery, Milo, Nescafe and Purina pet food.

The company was recently named one of the country’s top 10 employers out of a pool of 150 private and public companies in employer opinion survey, The Randstad Awards, for the third year running.

Nestle has also launched two new additions to its Uncle Toby's Oats range: Ancient Grains and Steel Cut Quick Cook.

Ancient Grains has added rye, quinoa and puffed millet, and has been awarded a 5 Health Star Rating.

Steel Cut Oats have a quicker cook time of three minutes and have been chopped into pieces with steel blades for a “full and hearty” texture.

The new offerings are available at Woolworths, Coles and independent retailers for RRP $5.99.
