Riverland Wine has revised its live Riverland Wine Industry Blueprint Implementation Plan, outlining the priority activities and feedback from the recent Riverland Town Meeting.

The Riverland Wine Industry Blueprint, developed with the support of Riverland Wine, the South Australian government, Wine Australia and Wine Grape Council of SA, aims to ensure the sustainability of the Riverland wine industry into the future. The blueprint’s five strategic priorities will help to improve the sector’s competitiveness and restore long term viability.

Top priority blueprint goals include seeking immediate and short-term adjustment and support to recover the value of high-volume grape and wine production in the region to profitable levels, as well as receiving recognition that the region is experiencing exceptional circumstances; and an accelerated regional transition to diversify the economic base of the regions wine sector and building premium brands and experiences.

Minister for primary industries and regional development Clare Scriven officially launched the blueprint along with Riverland Wine Independent chair Dr Darren Oemcke, and Riverland Wine grape grower and wine maker representatives at the Riverland Wine Centre.
Primary industries and regional development minister, Clare Scriven, Riverland Wine chair Dr Darren Oemcke and Riverland Wine grape grower and wine maker representatives at the blueprint launch in 2023.

The development of the Riverland Wine Industry Blueprint commenced in early 2023 and incorporated an industry steering committee, three grower surveys, large winery forums, banking and water audits, market reports, case study and community engagement activities.

All data collected enabled Riverland Wine to outline goals, strategies, and priorities for the remainder of 2024 for our advocacy activities.
