Australia’s largest 100 per cent family-owned red meat processor Thomas Foods International has unveiled a new senior leadership structure, which is effective immediately.

Darren Thomas is now group managing director while Chris Thomas remains executive chair.

Chris has been managing director since he established the company in 1988. Darren joined the company in 1992 and became group CEO in 1999.

Anthony Stewart has been promoted to the  position of group CEO. Anthony joined Thomas Foods International in 2014 and has served as both CFO and CCO.

Nick Thomas takes on the role of group CFO, transitioning from his current role as CFO Australia.

Darren Thomas said the company was growing. “We are pursuing a number of opportunities to build our business both across Australia and overseas. It’s therefore critical that we have a dedicated, experienced and focussed leadership team in place to support our ambitious global strategy for the years ahead.”

Opal is assuring its packaging grade customers that its contingency plans mean supply will continue without interruption, as the lockout of its 308 workers at the Maryvale Mill enters its fourth week.

The board at consumer packaging giant Amcor used its half year results to urge shareholders to vote in favour of the proposed mega merger with Berry, and said not voting was the same as a no vote.

Second quarter trading results for Pro-Pac Group were below its expectations, with the company citing challenges coming from market conditions, and exchange rate movements.
