The ability to conduct regular, reliable temperature checks is essential for professionals working in the food industry in light of the requirements of food safety regulations such as HACCP.

To help meet this need, instrument manufacturer Testo has introduced waterproof thermometers that have been designed specifically for this purpose.

The product series known as testo 108 can provide spot check measurements in seconds for those involved in transportation and storage of foodstuffs, in restaurants, in large kitchens or in chain restaurants.

“Only by taking precise measurements can the quality of the products be monitored and guaranteed. And it is the only way to fulfil the HACCP guidelines,” writes Testo.

The thermometers from the testo 108 product series carry out spot check measurements in seconds, the company says.

The range is also insensitive to moisture and water, and thanks to the soft protective cover, is also safe from impact damage and dirt.

Testo says its most recent arrival, the testo 108-2, offers even more waterproofing and convenience. This is the first of the range to offer a screw-in lockable probe. This makes it more waterproof, and because the probe can’t come loose, it’s also secure and reliable, says Testo marketing manager, James Macdonald.

This means more protection when used in wet environments and during cleaning, he says.
