GEA has won a contract to supply an extended pasta filata cheese production line to German cheese manufacturer BMI.

GEA said its acquisition of de Klokslag and CMT in 2014 and 2015 respectively has enabled it to provide a single offering to BMI, which makes fresh dairy products, including over 60 million tonnes of cheese every year.

Filata cheeses are a family of stretched-curd, pulled-curd, and plastic-curd cheeses such as mozzarella, which are suited to hot dishes like pizza.
